5to4 – the Dutch mobility game

5to4 is a formula to fight congestion and contribute to a more sustainable country at the same time. This boosts the image of a company. The method is simple: when participating in this game, one out of every five working days is used to travel or work in a more sustainable way.

5to4 is the new mobility game. This interactive game brings employees in contact with all aspects of mobility management. They are challenged in sympathetic way to travel and work smarter. Through an online serious game people keep tabs on their daily travel behaviour. The smarter they work or travel, the more points they earn. Mobi, their green personal coach, is there to encourage the participants. To stimulate people even more and to emphasise the competition element, teams, departments or branches can also play against each other. This brings 5to4 alive on the work floor. Next to various virtual prizes, the winning team will also win a real prize. 5to4 gives companies a tool to both inform and inspire their employees at the same time!

Why 5to4?
Currently, traffic congestion costs the (Dutch) economy up to 2.2 billion Euro per year. And this does not even include the enormous impact of exhaust gases on the environment and on personal health. 5to4 can create up to 20% less traffic during rush hours because participants travel and work smarter. This form of serious gaming therefore matches perfectly with the image of a socially responsible employer who wants to take action. With 5to4, companies contribute to a more accessible country and they opt for a sustainable business. And the approach offers more: there can be substantial savings related to (travel) costs, it creates a better work-life balance, productivity increases and parking problems decrease.
